Yesterday, Studio 76′s let us in for a behind the scenes look at what goes in to putting together this years fashion awards. Special invited judges gather together to go over the entire game plan, judging the nominees, going over the categories, basically just getting the foundation all laid out a few months before the actual event. PowerhouseMixtapes.com is a compilation of three DJ’s; DJ Juice, DJ LP & DJ Punisha. These guys have been holding it down respectively doing events ranging from Hampton homecomings to Miami spring breaks in South Beach. They are next at bat and will be making a huge impact on the scene from everything to mixtapes, production & even managing. Saturday they burned it down in the 804, downtown Richmond at Club Aurora! Saturday night, the fellas over at Avi8ted Thoughts kicked off the Saturday of this years 2010 Memorial Weekend festivities at 1350 Okie Street, Northeast! For those of you who don’t recognize that address, its commonly referred to as Club Love, aka Love the Club! What was tonight’s occasion? Nothing else matter but the second floor, especially the big VIP in which Avi8ted Thoughts rented out and did it major! Lets just say they go “hard in the paint”! Hometown native & NBA OKC Thunders’ Kevin Durant and crew came through for some bottle service in Avi8ted’s section! No lie, every member of the Avi8ted crew popped ATLEAST one bottle of champagne a piece! After literally bottle 10, we lost count! No bottle passing and fronting for the cameras here! Not to mention, they were embraced by nothing but eye candy all night! ED with Miskeen Originals orchestrated the body painting of the ladies with there body’s as walking art pieces of his craft. DJ Tay James kept the 2nd floor rocking from start to finish!

Weekend in DC, bottle service consisting of Louis Roederer Champagne Cristal Brut + Moet & Chandon Nectar Imperial Rose + Patron Silver, Breitling for Bentley chronograph timepieces, Driver service to and from the club: just a slight recap of our experience in the nation’s capitol this weekend. Got the call to cover Germaine’s big birthday bash out in DC. The homie shut it down reserving the largest section in the venue and ordering like half the bar! The rain didn’t stop the festivities that night! All of Germaine’s closest family and friends assisted in bringing in the birthday the right way! We even got a chance to kick it with him over a brief discussion about our company’s favorite topic, Loyalty! Great minds think alike and we definitely appreciated the oppourtunity to capture Germaine’s birthday celebration. Looking forward to working with him and people in the future! Posh Dolche x 2 Year Anniversary x Nothing But Loyalty!

Posh Dolche Restaurant & Lounge kicked off a big celebration for their 2nd year anniversary. The word “Posh” is defined in the dictionary as classy, elegant and fashionable. This adjective truly lives up to the nickname for the lounge and nightspot. The owners pictured below have been setting trends in the area, one of which should be more common. If you plan on being in a certain line of business, you need to step outside your own realm and stay up on what is what in that business. There isn’t a night of the week you wont catch any of these three fellas out and about, at various different events: either in town, or flying out to party from DC to South Beach to LA! These guys stay loyal to the game and more importantly, loyal to their supporters, us being one of many. Their 2nd year anniversary event entailed no cover charge for patrons and a delicious complimentary buffet, alongside music by DJ Total Wreck, a multitude of excellent waitresses and speedy bartenders. Keep up the good work fellas!

Adikshun Spa x Giving Back to The Community

Today, our good clients over at Adikshun Spa in Chesapeake VA hosted a “Back to School” special for children going back to school. This special was unique, it entitled parents to bring their children in for a free hair cut or hair style. It really means a lot to see businesses giving back to the community in tough times like these. The staff came in on what was supposed to be a day off for them and from the time shop was open they were at work. The service did not stop there, after the children received complimentary hair treatments, the owner blessed the children with essential craft boxes filled with school supplies and back to school clothing! Summer Splash 2009 Custom Car & Bike Show

On Sunday, car audio shop Audio Frequency of Hampton and urban retail chain Downtown Locker Room, DTLR hosted their second annual custom car and bike show titled Summer Splash! As we stated before, this year they did it way bigger! Big Rob from DTLR along with Garnell & Willie from Audio Frequency put there minds and entities together with a killer collaboration! The show kicked off about 3:00PM, all of the contestants in this years contests lined up there vehicles in front both shops. Each contestant brought and even bigger crowd with them for support. Everything from low riders, SUV’s, domestics, imports and a few bikes were present. Off to the side, the auto detailers came out to offer there services and get the whips looking right for the cameras and the judges. DTLR’s DJ Twan G ( soon to be on Upinthemix Radio) set up and kept the crowd entertained. Between the DJ and Audio Frequency’s shop manager, Willie on the mic with all his energy and spontaneity, you never knew what to expect next! After endless whispers and trash talking, Willie took it amongst himself to host and unofficial Bass off ( battle between 2 or more vehicles to see which system can produce the most bass). This is when the crowd really got into it! Between the bass off and the final judging of the cars, the kids in attendance hosted a dance off to the infamous “Stanky Leg” record! What can we say, we love the kids! Finally at the end, model LA, who was featured in Twista’s “Yo Body” hosted the awards ceremony and trophy presentation. One contest asked if he could trade in his trophy in return for Ms. LA! ::not happening buddy! Sunday 8/30 x 2nd Annual Summer Splash Car & Bike Show! Come through!

The good fellas over at Audio Frequency car shop are doing it even bigger for their 2nd annual Summer Splash. This year Garnell & Willie from AF have teamed up with Rob from DTLR and will be bringing more to the table. Expect more cars,more bikes, more beautiful people, good food, giveaways, music by DTLR’s own DJ Twan G. Hosted by Amazing Amie & LA who are some pretty heavy hitters out of VA on the model & video scene. They definitely put on for their city similar to how Audio Frequency is putting on for the community on this one! Hampton University’s own cheerleaders & dance team will be hosting the newest edition to Summer Splash with the car wash! Again, it all goes down Sunday August 30th 2009, 3:00PM right infront of the shop and DTLR’s store. 61 W Mercury Blvd Hampton VA 23669. Overall it will be a good day for everyone!
