08-13-2011 Michael & Traci Massie’s 6th Annual All White Affair x March of Dimes Benefit @ The Estates

Time flies when you’re having fun and it seemed like only yesterday we were covering Mike & Traci’s event last summer at the Estates. This year, the rain did not stop us! We took the festivities inside as the Massie’s opened up there home to those who chose to donate for the cause, this year, March of Dimes. With a minimum of $50 donation fee, guests came out in typical all white colored attire enjoying the jams spinned by DJ Puff Dragon on the 2nd floor from the balcony. It doesn’t stop there. In the kitchen is where the bar was located, with the specialists Kim W. of KMK productions and her assistants held down the bar all night. Outside, on the back patio near the pool in which some patrons decided to cool off and take a midnight splash, Austin’s Catering was all set up, full all you can eat soul food buffet. Its hard not to have a good time when you’re both donating for a good cause and surrounded by good people. Don’t take our word for it, check out the gallery linked below.

Sunday, we had a chance to cover a birthday event. Unlike birthday events, this one was for a young lady by the name of Jada. Her and all her little friends had a ball; from the music spun by DJ Shrink, dance contests, food, cake, candy, ice cream etc. To top it all off, the decorations and the all white attire really set it off! The event was very well put together as a whole. It was a pleasure to cover Jada’s birthday party. I’m sure her friends and family will love it!

Saturday night in the heart of downtown Portsmouth, Marquia held her birthday bash to bring in the big 3-0! Thats right, three decades!! It definitely was a fun night full of dancing, good music, good food & drinks at Krush all amongst the presence of tons of family and friends. It was good to step back into doing photos since it’s always a pleasure to capture those moments one frame at a time. Trust me, with her personality, her good energy and the love that was in attendance, the photos are just a mere reflection of how fun that night was!

Saturday night, the fellas over at Avi8ted Thoughts kicked off the Saturday of this years 2010 Memorial Weekend festivities at 1350 Okie Street, Northeast! For those of you who don’t recognize that address, its commonly referred to as Club Love, aka Love the Club! What was tonight’s occasion? Nothing else matter but the second floor, especially the big VIP in which Avi8ted Thoughts rented out and did it major! Lets just say they go “hard in the paint”! Hometown native & NBA OKC Thunders’ Kevin Durant and crew came through for some bottle service in Avi8ted’s section! No lie, every member of the Avi8ted crew popped ATLEAST one bottle of champagne a piece! After literally bottle 10, we lost count! No bottle passing and fronting for the cameras here! Not to mention, they were embraced by nothing but eye candy all night! ED with Miskeen Originals orchestrated the body painting of the ladies with there body’s as walking art pieces of his craft. DJ Tay James kept the 2nd floor rocking from start to finish!

Get It Rockin Ent Presents Sink or Swim “THE SHARK PARTY” – Shakas – VA Beach Oceanfront

Last night, Get It Rockin Entertainment brought the bait out to the ocean front. Event titled The Shark Party was very fitting! The team owned the night out in Virginia Beach at Shakas in similar fashion to how an actual shark owns the sea, which was literally only one block over on Atlantic Ave. DJ El Capone kept it rocking all nite and even had a live drummer to add a different element to all the top hits being spinned! The ladies kept it really sexy and chic since the weather permitted and there wasn’t a rain cloud in sight! Similar to large fins and other physical features, check out the custom 757/Shark t-shirts the GIR family had on that night to fully represent!

Foward Vision Group & Eddleton Events presents The ̀dā ̀pär-tē (Day Party) – Zanzibar DC

Let’s set the stage really quick before we recap on this day party put together this past Saturday over at Zanzibar in DC right on the waterfront: 80 Degree weather, not a rain drop in sight as predicted by the weather people. An indoor and outdoor venue to accommodate all the guests and invites to the “Day Party”. Outdoor covered patio deck with full bar, tables and waitresses. Indoors with a full wrap around bar, white VIP couches and ottomans with buckets of ultra premium vodka and champagne on chill in ice, with orange and cranberry juice chasers. People dancing and getting it in on the large dance floor from the sounds of DJ Kaos below huge projector screens with photos from previous day parties. Custom T-Shirts branding their companies and setting them apart from the competition. Hennessy Black in the house, serviced courtesy shots in light up shot glasses by two tall and beautiful woman, who amazingly were twins…

What exactly are we rambling about? Curt Boogie, D Ward & Kraig Mack, the trio behind some of the most prominent Day Party series. Forward Vision Group & Eddleton Events went in again, shutting down SW DC, Water street to be exact. If you don’t know what a Day Party is before checking out this footage, you may just want to stick to happy hours because this is definitely NOT that! It’s a party before the party, the ultimate pre-game of pre-games, where you can find sexy ladies and gents in a relaxed dress code, partying, drinking, bottle service etc all before the street lights come on!

Shouts to Curt, Darryl, Kraig, DJ Kaos on the wheels of steel, Hennessy Black & the Hennessy Black Ladies & Darnell Dockett /AZ Cardinals NFL for coming through!

Kiss Entertainment Presents Dare2Dream MLK Weekend at the Norva

2010 is going to be such a great year. We kicked off the start of the new year officially last night with one of our original, day-one clients, Kiss Entertainment. Owner Pree, aka Pree Diddy, aka 1080Pree did the unthinkable: With his entertainment group, consisting of the Circle, partners Chris Conyers & Norschon Sheridan, alongside a talented group of sub-promoters, they managed to top off the venue they rocked out last year for Hampton University’s Homecoming 2009 .

For a recap on that please click here. Things started off slower than normal, but somewhere around 11:30PM, people started pouring in from outside! Can you say “ALL THE WAY TURNT UP”?!?! The quality of the women in attendance was unbelievable! We are talking about the best of the best from HU, NSU, ODU, all the other surrounding colleges, even spotted some of VCU in the building! The soundtrack was off the chain featuring the people’s choice’s, DJ Tay James, DJ LP & DJ Juice! DJ Rick Geez, VA’s own Clipse official DJ, stopped through to check the scene since he was in town.

As you will see from the footage, they had the crowd rocking, DJ Pun contributed to the crowd interaction being behind the microphone all night! We really wish it was possible to capture all of the beautiful event goers at these types of events, but let’s face it, thats NOT physically possible when you sell out parties, excuse us, EVENTS like KISS Ent does! Another quality event to jump off the new year! We will definitely keep you posted on what’s next from these guys! ** (hint hint Spring Break 2010, I Plead the 5th, So. Primo’s Birthday Bash x Club Ibiza DC

Last night, Eric Clay & Admu presented a Pre Founders Day celebration for Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. at club Ibiza in DC. Long time friend and client Primo brought in his birthday in style that night since they threw him a big birthday bash upstairs! We had to drop what we were doing and make sure we made suitable accommodations to come out to DC to cover Primo’s birthday bash! He’s been seriously on our case about not coming out so what better way to make our presence and show loyalty than on his birthday! When we say this guy knows everybody in DC, we really mean it! He could not walk in a straight line through the crowd with out a handshake or hug being given! Glad we were blessed to be a part of his birthday celebration, definitely look forward to more work with this young man. Friday nights in DC at Ibiza are the place to be, tons of VIP tables and areas, excellent door staff handling guestlists minimizing the wait outside, a plethora of women as the DMV’s own recording artists Wale would put it, “Pretty Girls”, plenty of Scorpios in the building celebrating birthdays as well, DJ Gemini & DJ Quicksilva held it down all night! CYBP Foundation Presents ONYX All Black Affair * NSU Homecoming Weekend

Yesterday kicked off the festivities for Norfolk State University’s homecoming celebration. The Coalition of Young Black Professionals Foundation hosted their 8th Annual event at the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts, Town Center Virginia Beach. It seemed like only yesterday when CYBP called us in to cover the 7th Annual event last year across the street at the Westin Hotel. This year, more people & bigger promotion required a bigger venue! How much bigger can CYBP do it? Try 1500 tickets sold ; Try sold out status the night of ; Try live streaming broadcast from 2 floors with 2 cameras on mygoodlyfe.com; Try 2 roaming Upinthemix photographers along side 2 photo-booth photographers; Try 3 floors + 1 VIP “Mogul” lounge room with private DJ; Try Dj SnS rocking out on the 1′s and 2′s: You get the hint now right?! Last night the homies over at Grade A Ent had it on lock over at Eluzions! The @ in Grade signifies where these guys come from: A-Town, the A, ATL, the one and only Atlanta GA. These fellas definitely are from Atlanta because they sure do have that southern hospitality, they made sure everyone around them was having a good time and rocking out all night! We look forward to working more with them in the future, and with the amount of Loy@lty they have with Upinthemix, we will be working them on more events! This is just the beginning!
