04-21-2012 CJ’s 16th Birthday Bash – VA Sports Hall of Fame

Last Saturday, we had the opportunity to cover something out of the ordinary. A very unique and special 16th bday bash, one of our good clients bugged us for months in advance, ensuring we would be available to cover this. Her younger brother CJ was housing one of the biggest super 16 birthday bashes we’ve ever seen! This truly makes some adult birthday parties look like child’s play. For starters, being escorted in between a stretch limo, 50 street bikes, chromed out german helmet and riding in the back of a custom, candy painted trike motorcycle! CJ’s friends and family all huddled around, outside the VA Sports Hall of Fame, downtown Portsmouth, awaiting his arrival. Definitely felt really celebrity-ish with all the folks outside taking photos and video of the bday boy pulling up in style swag!!!

After arrival, the event hosts escorted everyone to a private theatre, with all family members dressed in custom black #TeamCJ tshirts! They showed a custom slideshow of CJ, highlighting the blessing in which he truly is, reminding everyone to put things in perspective whenever they feel like they’ve hit a bump in life. Everyone got to wish the bday boy a special birthday shouts, he even was serenaded & a spiritual dance done in his favor! Wow! Think that’s all?! Nope, just warming up!

Moving right along to the main ball room, his own DJ, live drummers, custom bday cake & cupcakes and a money shower and dance from all the special ladies in attendance! As folks got to party, eat and dance in celebration, CJ and the kids somehow disappeared upstairs, where the sports hall of fame held a custom birthday scoreboard, wishing him a happy birthday along with basketball courts, baseball fast pitch and a quarterback station! Now that’s a birthday party! Not only is this something we’ve never seen before, but by the smiles on CJ’s face from the time he pulled up just got larger and larger! The groups over at TNE & The Champagne Gang put together another hot one, over @ BUTTER in Manhattan…combined with the NYC’s, Da Union’s own DJ SNATCH 1 and ATL’s finest DJ Supreme, some of the finest NYC socialites and bottle and VIP service all night, this was a First Fridays to remember.

10/16/2011 Kenrick’s 5th Birthday Party – Hunt Club Farms

Sunday afternoon, Kenrick & his closest family and friends gathered at Hunt Club Farms to celebrate his 5th birthday! This themed birthday bash hosted that of his favorite superheroes: Captain America & Optimus Prime! Everything from the gifts, decorations, even Kenricks attire was based around his favorite characters! His actual birthday festivities included unlimited bounce-house fun, petting zoo, playing in the hay, and of course pizza and cake for everyone! The party couldn’t have been complete without a surprise visit from none ofther than Optimus Prime! Pretty impressive for a 5 year old! The true superheroes this afternoon, Kenrick’s parents and family for there support and putting this all together!

Cowboy boots, cowboy hats, bandanas, line dancing, bull riding; yes we’re talking about a birthday party here! Outside of the usually birthday, nightclub type setting, Felicia hit us up to do things a little differently. Well different this was! She gathered up the troops to host a birthday dinner evening combined with live music, DJ, and some bull riding! The girls surely had fun and the birthday girl even got a surprise half way through, but she said not to put it up! Just check out the photos to see how it went down.

08-13-2011 Michael & Traci Massie’s 6th Annual All White Affair x March of Dimes Benefit @ The Estates

Time flies when you’re having fun and it seemed like only yesterday we were covering Mike & Traci’s event last summer at the Estates. This year, the rain did not stop us! We took the festivities inside as the Massie’s opened up there home to those who chose to donate for the cause, this year, March of Dimes. With a minimum of $50 donation fee, guests came out in typical all white colored attire enjoying the jams spinned by DJ Puff Dragon on the 2nd floor from the balcony. It doesn’t stop there. In the kitchen is where the bar was located, with the specialists Kim W. of KMK productions and her assistants held down the bar all night. Outside, on the back patio near the pool in which some patrons decided to cool off and take a midnight splash, Austin’s Catering was all set up, full all you can eat soul food buffet. Its hard not to have a good time when you’re both donating for a good cause and surrounded by good people. Don’t take our word for it, check out the gallery linked below.

Sunday, we had a chance to cover a birthday event. Unlike birthday events, this one was for a young lady by the name of Jada. Her and all her little friends had a ball; from the music spun by DJ Shrink, dance contests, food, cake, candy, ice cream etc. To top it all off, the decorations and the all white attire really set it off! The event was very well put together as a whole. It was a pleasure to cover Jada’s birthday party. I’m sure her friends and family will love it!

Saturday night in the heart of downtown Portsmouth, Marquia held her birthday bash to bring in the big 3-0! Thats right, three decades!! It definitely was a fun night full of dancing, good music, good food & drinks at Krush all amongst the presence of tons of family and friends. It was good to step back into doing photos since it’s always a pleasure to capture those moments one frame at a time. Trust me, with her personality, her good energy and the love that was in attendance, the photos are just a mere reflection of how fun that night was!

Long time friend & over the years client, Kristal called up to have her event covered. She’s like a baby sister so when she calls, I know it’s something major. Usually it’s her birthday bash, or brother’s graduation or just to kick it for the fam, but this time it was a huge surprise. How huge? Huge as in her tummy huge! Kristal & Chevis are expecting so it was only right we covered the baby shower! Just like everything else she does, tons of friends and family came out Sunday for some good music, food, drinks and to bless the young couple with nothing but gifts and well wishes.

Once again, the gang over at Get It Rocking Ent comes together to host another banger! This occasion? Just a holiday weekend, on a beautiful 80 degree plus weather evening out in Virginia Beach @ Sake. With the music mixed by DJ Problem & DJ Phillie, the ladies were getting it in all night to the killer soundtrack! Fellas were nothing short of pleased with the amount of eye candy that came out in attendance, Get it Rockin sure does know how to bring them out, early too!!!
